About the facility 

Barwon Health's Food Service is a large department over 2 sites, University Hospital Geelong (UHG) and the McKellar Centre. Our Food Services provide over 3000 meals per day to residents, clients and patients seven days a week. Our Cafeteria service to staff and visitors is open seven days a week and requires a variety of duties by our large team. 

About the role 

Barwon Health is looking to appoint Food Service Assistants on a permanent part time basis located at the McKellar centre. It is essential that the successful applicant can plate and serve meals, prepare hot and cold food items and beverages and always has the consumer at the forefront with all service provided. You should possess or be willing to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate. Previous experience in providing exceptional customer service, well- developed interpersonal and communication skills with an alibility to work in a multi discipline team is essential.

• Lead your team to ensure efficient, friendly and professional food and beverage service is provided to all guests;
• Be aware of VIPs, loyalty members and regular guests to ensure their unique requests and special needs are met;
• Ensure revenue for the shift is accounted for with cash/charge summary being completed to balance daily activities;
• Maintain a weekly cleaning schedule for the restaurant to provide the highest possible hygiene and cleaning standards;
• Ensure staff are competent in all service procedures and they are able to maximize sales to guests. Establish training sessions to address shortfalls;
• Be knowledgeable and operate within appropriate liquor licensing guidelines and hotel operating procedures;
• Ensure team members are briefed on all specials and standard menu items;
• Handle any escalated guest complaints;
• Maintain currency of RSA certification, amendments and updates and adhere to RSA principles;
• Ensure of ACCOR values and Principals of Heartist are entrenched into the F&B team on a daily basis.

Must have a minimum 2 years experience in Café Operations.

Duties include: 

Barista Skills/Coffee Making, Sandwich Bar, Hot Food Preparation, Counter Service skills.

Rotating 4 hour Shifts including weekends available.

The Markets, Provider and Sector Development Division of this Federal Government Agency is seeking to fill a new position as an APS6 Branch Performance Officer due to growth in the Market Settings Branch.

The Role

This position, sitting within the Markets, Provider and Sector Development Division, will assist in the Branch Manager in establishing this newly formed Branch and support the Branch's accountabilities to deliver the Agency's strategic program of work.

Responsibilities

As the Branch Performance Officer you will:

• Undertake research and investigations for the Branch Manager and prepare executive correspondence, briefs, reports and advice in a timely and accurate manner.
• Develop, implement and review internal systems or practices to support proactive management and coordination of Branch accountabilities. This includes monitoring governance processes, audit and risk items, and strategic work programs ensuring linkages between work streams are cultivated and maintained.
• Monitor and lead reporting on the program of work noting key metrics, performance indicators and risks utilising a strong project management methodology.
• Support or prepare a variety of communications materials and resources relevant to the market settings program of work, including talking points, PowerPoints, emails, online material.
• Coordinate the end-to-end life-cycle of parliamentary document records across the Branch using the prescribed processes and procedures such as matters relating to Submissions, Questions on Notice, Senate Estimate and Joint Standing Committees.
• Manage external contractors or consultants engaged to support the Market Settings program of work, including monitoring contract terms, ensuring provision of required project documentation, monitoring timelines and deliverables.
• Manage competing priorities while maintaining high work standards and accuracy.

About You

Working collaboratively with the Branch Directors and colleagues across the Agency, you will possess or quickly acquire:

• Excellent project management, research and analytical skills with the capacity for strategic thinking
• A sound understanding of the aims and functions across the Branch and work activities to support development of a vibrant marketplace
• Exemplary engagement skills and the ability to negotiate and problem solve within complex environments
• Well-developed oral and written skills and the ability to develop executive reports or communication materials for a diverse audience
